Ooty has served as home for several tribes the Government museum, located near Arts College, Stone House Area, holds responsibility of maintaining and displaying the unique collection of art, craft, sculpture and items of these tribes. About 14 km from Ooty, Kalhasti waterfall is another name for this place.Ooty Lake is an artificial lake covering 65 acres (26 ha) created in 1824. Pykara, a river located 19 km (12 mi) from Ooty, rises at Mukurthi peak and flows through a series of cascades with the last two falls of 55 metres (180 ft) and 61 metres (200 ft) known as Pykara falls.

"Mudumalai National Park" is a national park in the Nilgiri Mountains in Tamil Nadu in southern India. It covers 321 km2 (124 sq mi) at an elevation range of 850–1,250 m (2,790–4,100 ft) in the Nilgiri District and shares boundaries with the states of Karnataka and Kerala. A part of this area has been protected since 1940.

"Masinagudi" is a village in the Nilgiris District of the state of Tamil Nadu in India. It is located 30 km (19 mi) from the district headquarters at Ooty. It is in the buffer zone of the Mudumalai National Park. Masinagudi has several schools and other amenities and a number of resorts.

"The Botanical Gardens", Ooty was established in the year 1847 by Marquis of Tweedale but was the brain child of the architect, McIvor. It is situated on the hill locks of Ooty and is home to the rare paper bark tree, 20 million old fossil tree, the monkey puzzle tree and more.

" Coonoor" is the second largest hill station of the Western Ghats. It is situated at an altitude of 1930 meters and just 19 km from Ooty. With slopes of tea plantations, dotted with many attractions and blessed with chilly weather throughout the year, this place is a perfect summer retreat.
